ANZAC DAY- CALL TO PRAYER???

Its all over the media that we are being told to stand at the end of our drive ways for ANZAC Day 25/4/2020 .

Im ex military and I had to fight for my own free speech in the face of right wingers . At the last state, federal and local elections in Qld the far right vote in Townsville was about 25%,  thats with KAP . Thats not including the rusted on LNP and Labor hard right. During the reclaim rallies they were on tele saying they didnt mind hanging out with nazis and fascists . Bob Katter , of the "Australian race of people" said he backed
 the Nazi Anning "1000%" and was photographed with the ex military neo nazi group the UPF smiling with Blair Cotrell.

Australia fought the nazis and fascists (although many shared the same ideas) . This makes all those self styled patriotic flag waving hypocrites treasonous traitors and inter generational enemy fifth columnist agents and guerrillas . Not all vets , ex military and not even a majority attend dawn services at the best of times.

Presumably , these enemy agents will assume the role of those jingoist patriots of the white feather brigades of yore who vicariously exercised their purported patriotism with other peoples blood, and purport to assume the moral high ground and demand to know why their unpatriotic neighbours haven’t headed the call to prayer (contrary to s116 of the constitution which forbids the national imposition of a religious observance) and rolled out their mats at the end of the driveway facing east even if they are atheists . It will be the same as the envelope with the white feather.

To the  “love it or leave it” brigades,  I have never even owned a civilian passport . And when we become a republic you can all lay back and think of England. In other words….

And a song for the day- Hunters and Collectors "What's a few men”. It’s a lot different to mythologising and turning remembrance and reflection into a nationalist celebration and the memorials into, as one writer put it "secular temples" . And giving a revisionist impression to children of a people who, in the main, weren't far off the nazis in their thinking and actions at the time. Remember the Coniston massacre happened at the time of the rise of Hitler and Mussolini. Making the dead into glorious gods takes the mind off remembering the incompetent aristocrats and politicians and murderous generals who slaughtered millions. That blind unquestioning obedience is the law of the tyrants and of the slaves. That we were taken to war in Iraq on a lie. And this lie led to everything that has happened in the middle east since.
