On Councillor Paul Jacob, he previously called for a party team at the next election. He is pointing to a looming problem for The Jenny Hill Gang and their illustrious leader.

She , Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill is/was the legal group agent for them and has enforceable reporting and disclosure obligations under law; if she was removed then liability falls on all members of her gang under s43 of the Local Government Electoral Act. https://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/view/html/inforce/current/act-2011-027#sec.43

A group of candidates had and must operate a joint bank account and all expenditure must have gone through that account Belcarra report p 57 p-70-73 , s27 , 43 and 126 , 127 LGE ACT . Remembering they knew there was a looming developer donor ban, they would not have spent all that money .

They ran as an independent team , though they are all , if not majority labor members. Under s 127(6) and (7) there are only 3 ways that left over money can be dealt with :
127 (6)If an amount remains in the account at the end of the group’s disclosure period for the election, the amount or part of the amount may—
(a)be kept in the account for the conduct of another election campaign by the group; or
(b)if each member of the group was a member of a political party during the disclosure period—be paid to the political party; or
(c)be paid to a charity nominated by the group.
(7)An amount mentioned in subsection (6) must not be dealt with other than under that subsection.

Thus, if the gang splits the money can only be given to a charity (look out for that one..larf) or be given to labor. But that says they lied to the people during the campaign. Paul Jacob called for a labor team next time round because they are split (Clare Armstrong, Townsville Bulletin 6/6/18 p 4 “Alp to run ticket for council poll”) and would have to create a charity or go to the trouble of getting that dodgy mob to reforward that money to them .

Similarly, you can ask questions about what happened to the Arlett money next election. If the campaign is a labor one, the donations get run through the party and they can try to put distance between them . For instance, see the difference between the 2012 and 2015 candidate returns for John Hathaway and David Crissafulli for the state election

Q. Given you Townsville first people who ran in 2012 had people from Tyrells team in 2008 , and would as a team have to declare interests for those team members in relation to matters arising out of those donations , you will have had a copy of the 2008 register of interests for 2008, will you put that online ?

Both TAB and the CBA have been done for $75 Mil and over $700 Mil respectively for organised crime and terrorism money laundering by AUSTRACC in the FEDERAL COURT . This makes all those donations proceeds of crime and those parties and groups beneficiaries of proceeds of crime.

Q. As an ex QLD copper, what opinion do you have of other ex and serving coppers , who must be taken to have knowledge of the lengths “D’s” go to –to investigate these matters – who join such parties and groups?

p.s. I note your former boss , Snr Sgt in charge of the Townsville Station , Dale Last was a member of the LNP and has been MLA for Burdekin for 2 terms and who was the only one of the 2012 TSV First council crew NOT elected.
